Talisa Joyner
Founder/Madam President
Bio
Talisa Lenette Joyner is the founder and President of Adelphe Christian Sorority Inc. She is the wife of Louis Joyner. Together they have six kids and 4 grandkids. Talisa is a resident of a small town called Snow Hill, where she has spent most of her life. She continues to declare that great things will come out of Greene County because she is here. Those words are definitely manifesting themselves through ACS. Adelphe is where her purpose and passion are being fulfilled. Her love for people has been her biggest aspiration, she genuinely desires to see every women reach her fullest potential in life. Her servants’ heart is one of her best attributes.
Talisa graduated from Green Central High School in 1990 and continued her education at Pitt Community College and pursued a trade as a cosmetologist, graduating from Mitchell's Hairstyling Academy. Currently she has her own salon called Shear Genius Barber and Styling. In addition, she is the owner of Be- You- tiful You Boutique and co -owner of The Country Chef LLC where she partners with her husband in business. Though she has a very busy life, Talisa also knew she had a calling upon her life that she must fulfill. Eighteen years ago, she committed to New Life Church in Snow Hill, NC and served faithfully in ministry. There, she has been ordained as a minister. The journey God has her on has definitely been one of the best paths yet. She plans to continue to commit to the growth of Adelphe Christian Sorority Inc because she knows God entrusted her with this vision. She along with her husband and 3 others have moved forward with what God had planned with no regrets! We will continue to submit to God's plan for our organization, serve his people and move forward with the vision and mission. It will continue to be our goal to Inspire, impact, empower and elevate everyone we cross paths with. We believe no one crosses our path by coincidence!
Angela Hardy

Bio
Angela Hardy was born in Greenville, NC on June 14, 1978, and raised in the Town of Snow Hill, NC. She attended Greene County Schools and graduated from Greene Central High School. After high school Angela advanced her education in Restaurant Management and attended Hamburger University to obtain certifications and degrees in Business Management. She worked in Restaurant Management for 18 years, later became a Property Manager for Keystone Management Inc, where she has been employed for the past 9 years. Angela is a resident of Kinston, NC where she married her husband Dontario Hardy whom is the currently serving as the Mayor of Kinston. They have been married for 13 years and have two beautiful daughters. Secretary Angela Hardy is one of the founding members of Adelphe Christian Sorority Inc. Here she gets to continue to work with people, which is what she loves to do!
Tanya Sherrod

Bio
Born July 6, 1971, in Kinston NC, Tanya Sherrod is an individual who has a heart for helping, serving, and giving back to others. She is currently the Director of New Life Childcare Center located in Snow Hill, NC. Tanya had a vision and a dream of opening a daycare center that offered quality, affordable childcare since 1991. In 2008, she was given the opportunity to see that vision come to pass. Stepping out on faith, she left her full time job at Lenoir County Department of Social Services to pursue her dreams in childcare.
Raised in Snow Hill, she graduated from Greene Central High School in 1989. Immediately after graduating, she moved to New Jersey with relatives. Shortly after, she was given the opportunity to travel and relocate to Oahu, Hawaii. There she got married and had her first child, Myladia. In 1993, she and her husband moved to Great Lakes, Illinois where she had her son, Marquos. Without any regret, she moved back to her hometown in 1994. She has 2 fury pals, Kody and Blake.
Tanya is known for her hard work and dedication. She has always worked very hard to provide for herself and both of her children. In addition to working, she has been pursuing her degree in Early Childhood Education. In addition to being the Director of a center as well as pursuing her degree, she is also the owner of Infinity Designs LLC. Under the Infinity Designs umbrella is ID Body Essentials, Infinity Designs Event Planning and Décor and ID Crafts & More.
Being a Founding Member and Treasurer of Adelphe Christian Sorority, Inc. plays a major part of what she stands for as an individual. She loves helping, serving and giving back to those in need.
Betty Anekwe

Bio
​Elizabeth (Betty) Anekwe was born August 21, 1974 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. She remains a resident of New Jersey and is married to Ugochukwu Anekwe and together they have four daughters. She attended Rowan College of South Jersey where she earned an Associate’s degree in Business Administration. Upon completion of that degree, she continued her education at Fairleigh Dickinson University earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Technology and a Master’s degree in Administrative Science. She has been employed by the New Jersey Department of Corrections since 1997 and serves as an executive team member and holds the title of Supervising Classification Officer overseeing the daily operations and releases of the incarcerated population. In addition, she is employed by Rowan College of South Jersey as an Academic Advisor and Adjunct Professor. One of her greatest passions is assisting students of all ages and backgrounds in achieving their educational goals. Elizabeth is also the owner of Signed & Sealed Notary; LLC as an appointed notary and certified loan signing agent. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, shopping, and spending quality time with friends. Elizabeth joined Adelphe Christian Sorority Inc. in 2022, and was later appointed as Madam Vice President. She has a heart for the community and bringing like-minded women together to achieve God’s purpose. Her motto being you only get out what you put in.
